ISLAMABAD – Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)Major General Asif Ghafoor has hailed ‘Ilyas’, who stopped a man fromburning a copy of the Holy Quran in Norway.
A video surfaced on social media in which a man can be seen burning the acopy of the Holy Quranan during an anti-Islam rally last week inNorway. The group which held the rally goes by the name ‘Stop theIslamisation of Norway’.
While everybody looks on, a man whose identity is not known and socialmedia is calling him Ilyas suddenly jumps over the fence and kicks the man.Soon netizens took to social media to praise Ilyas for his brave actcalling him ‘Muslim hero’ ‘Defender of the Holy Quran’.
DG ISPR too took to his personal Twitter handle and ‘salutedbrave Ilyas’ for displaying courage to stop an absolutely deplorableaction.“Such Islamophobia based provocations only promote hatred andextremism.
