*Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has paid glowing tribute onthe martyrdom of brave Wing Commander Noman Akram in the line of duty.*
In a tweet on Wednesday, the COAS said: “Laying one’s life is the ultimatesacrifice one can make for defence of the motherland. May his soul rest inpeace. My thoughts and sincere prayers are for the bereaved family.”
Earlier, Wing Commander Noman Akram was martyred during the crash of F-16jet near Shakarparian in Islamabad.

According to the PAF spokesperson, the pilot was martyred when jet crashednear the chand-tara jungle in the federal capital. It added that the planewas carrying out routine exercises for the March 23 parade.
The PAF spokesperson further said that a board of inquiry has been orderedby Air Headquarters to determine the cause of accident.
