ISLAMABAD: New developments reported over the TAPI gas pipeline project.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan Movlamov Atajan, along with CEO and ChairmanBoard of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited (TPCL) Muhammetmyrat Amanov Tuesdaycalled on Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan and Special Assistant to thePrime Minister (SAPM) on Petroleum Nadeem Babar.
TPCL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) apprised the minister and SAPM on theprogress made on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gaspipeline project and its benefits to the region and Pakistan, a PetroleumDivision press release said.
The minister appreciated the progress made on the TAPI pipeline andreiterated the support of the present government towards the successfulexecution of the project.
Omar Ayub said the TAPI pipeline offered diversification of the energyimports, social infrastructure programmes and creation of jobs for allparticipating countries, adding: “The incumbent government is fullycommitted to the execution of the project.”
The SAPM stressed the need for resolving all the outstanding issues for theearly implementation of the project.
