Pakistan and Kuwait decide to enhance cooperation in Defence, Security and Counter Terrorism

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Kuwait have agreed to increase bilateralcooperation in diverse fields, including defence, security andcounter-terrorism.

An understanding to this effect came during Army Chief General Qamar JavedBajwa’s separate meetings with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister ofDefence Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Chief of GeneralStaff Kuwait Armed Forces Lieutenant General Mohammed Khaled Al-Khadher andUnder Secretary National Guard Lieutenant General Staff Engineer HashimAbdurazaq Al-Refaea in Kuwait.

Both the sides agreed to increase cooperation in the fields of training,and provision of trained manpower.

During the meetings, matters pertaining to mutual interest, bilateraldefence and security cooperation and regional peace and stability cameunder discussion.

The political and military leadership of Kuwait highly appreciated theprofessionalism of Pakistan Army and determination of the Pakistani nationin combating terrorism.

Earlier, on arrival at Army Headquarters in Kuwait, Army Chief GeneralQamar Javed Bajwa was received by Chief of General Staff Kuwait ArmedForces Lieutenant General Mohammed Khaled Al-Khadher.

A smartly turned out contingent of Kuwait Army presented Guard of Honour toArmy Chief.
