ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Egypt on Saturday agreed to significantly enhancecooperation in political, economic, defence, cultural and people-to-peopledomains, signalling a new phase in their historic fraternal relations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, addressing a jointpress conference with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty,announced that Pakistan would provide Egypt a list of 500 leading businesshouses to promote business-to-business ties and facilitate bilateral tradeexpansion.
Dar underlined that both countries enjoy longstanding brotherhood and sharecommon goals in trade, security and defence sectors. He termed the Egyptianminister’s visit a milestone in achieving shared objectives andstrengthening strategic partnership.
The Egyptian foreign minister praised Pakistan’s vital role in the Gazaceasefire agreement and expressed Cairo’s desire for Islamabad’s activeparticipation in Gaza’s reconstruction efforts.Dr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support to Pakistan in the fightagainst terrorism and extended condolences over recent terror attacks thatclaimed precious lives.
He stressed that both nations remain committed to jointly confrontingcommon challenges, including extremism and terrorism, while deepeningbilateral relations across all domains.The two sides pledged to providemaximum facilitation to businesses from both countries and explore newavenues for defence and economic collaboration.
