NEW DELHI: BCCI Chief slams Shahid Afridi over his remarks on Kashmiris

NEW DELHI: BCCI Chief slams Shahid Afridi over his remarks on Kashmiris and warned him to stay away from all this.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur claimed that a player should stay away from political matters and that’s why you were criticized in Pakistan referring towards Afridi’s controversial statement.

Thakur said “To give a statement like that is not politically correct. A player should stay away from all this. That’s reason why he was criticized in Pakistan.”

“Yes a lot of people,  are here from Kashmir as well. And I want to thank people of Kolkata, they really support us as well,” Afridi said at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium before starting of the match between Pakistan and New Zealand.

A lot of Kashmiri people were seen holding Pakistan flag and placards with Shahid Afridi’s name inked on it.

Afridi was criticized by former cricketers and people back at home for his controversial statement of “getting more love in India”.

Later he also apologized for his act and claimed that whatever he is from the prayers of Pakistan nation.
