ISLAMABAD: Former Governor Herat, province of Afghanistan abducted from Islamabad has been released in Mardan here at Thursday.
According to security officials, Former Governor was being shifted to another place from Mardan, Swabi Road by his kidnappers. When kidnapers were stopped by police at check post in Mardan they started firing on police.
Sayed Fazlullah was freed after a shoot-out with kidnappers while they managed to escape from the scene taking advantage of darkness.
Sayed Fazlullah has been handed over to Afghan officials in Peshawar where he was sent to Islamabad. On the other hand, Afghan officials thanked Pakistani government to recover Fazlullah safe and unconditional.
It is also worthy to mention here that former governor had been kidnapped from Islamabad two weeks ago while an Afghan parliamentary delegation met with PM Nawaz and other high officials to recover Fazlullah.
