KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar has approached security agencies seeking protection after intelligence agencies have foreboded threats to his life twice among those of leaders of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan.

Allegedly Mayor of Karachi and leaders of MQM-Pakistan are vulnerable to attacks through handlers of target killers in South Africa. Intelligence agencies had written to the Home Department of Sindh around a month ago in this regard.

Waseem Akhtar was also urged by the agencies to remain alert.

The letter dispatched to the mayor demands off him to limit his movement in the city.
