LAHORE – Reliable sources have revealed that PAT led by Tahir ul Qadri maynot go for any organised and mass scale Dharna against the Punjabgovernment or the Shahbaz Sharif after the expiration of the January 7deadline.

PAT leadership is interested in long term protest movement and theimmediate threat of grand Dharna against Punjab government is not in offing.

The ‘All Parties Conference’ (APC) called by the Pakistan Awami Tehreek(PAT) on Saturday condemned the 2014 Model Town incident and thegovernment’s alleged move to amend the Khatm-i-Nabuwwat laws.

The APC held the government of Punjab, the Punjab police along with PunjabLaw Minister Rana Sanaullah and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif responsiblefor the Model Town incident, in which 14 people had been killed and 100others injured when police launched an assault on supporters gatheredoutside the residence of PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri in Model Town, Lahore.

“The PML-N is directly complicit in the tragedy,” said the jointdeclaration issued after the conference.

The APC demanded that the people who were responsible for the change in theKhatm-i-Nabuwwat oath should be given strict punishment.

PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira while reading out the declaration said thatthe APC demands the resignation of Shahbaz and Sanaullah by January 7, orelse a protest will be launched.

The APC urged the chief justice of Pakistan to take a suo motu notice ofthe Model Town incident and ensure an unbiased investigation through anon-partisan Joint Investigation Team (JIT) overseen by a judge.

It demanded that no National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) should beextended to “those who have looted national wealth”.

Addressing the press before the APC commenced, Qadri welcomed the partieswho had joined him, claiming that representatives of more than 40 were inattendance.
