Inzamam ul Huq lashes out at the Pakistan cricket team performance in ODI series

KARACHI: Pakistan chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has lashed out at the poorperformance of the Pakistan cricket team against the New Zealand in the ODIseries.

Pakistan Cricket team is under serious clout over the series defeat and isstruggling to avoid the Washout in the series.

Inzamam ul Huq said that the cricket team will be inquired about the poorperformance in the ongoing New Zealand tour after their return.

Talking to media in Karachi after the final match of the One Day Cup forDepartments, the chief selector said he is ready to take responsibility ofPakistan’s defeat, but it should be remembered that two matches are stillleft in the series.

On one hand, Inzamam was of the opinion that he will not accept any excusesregarding the defeat, and on the other, he seemed hopeful of betterperformance in the remaining matches.

He said he does not want to put extra pressure on the players now by givingany harsh statement.Inzamam admitted that conditions in New Zealand are tough, but the GreenShirts displayer poor performance according to him. He suggested teammanagement to give chance to those who were out of the playing XI in thefirst three matches if key players are not performing well.

The chief selector maintained that the way Pakistan batsmen lost theirwickets in all games is disappointing as well as intolerable. Such aperformance was not accepted from the men in green as the team are almostsame which won the ICC Champions Trophy.

Inzamam-ul-Haq said Pakistan are making those mistakes which can beavoided, and advised the squad to keep their focus only on performance.

He told that the selection committee and coaches were on same pageregarding the combination and all decision were taken after consultations.

It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan have already lost the five-matchone-day international (ODI) series against the Kiwis by going down easilyin the first three outings. The Black Caps had in fact humiliated the GreenShirts by thrashing them with a 183-run defeat in the third game.

The fourth match will be played on Tuesday (tomorrow) at Hamilton’s SeddonPark.
