WHANGAREI: Pakistan suffered yet another defeat in cricket world asAfghanistan defeated the green shirts by five wickets in the opening matchof the Under-19 World Cup on Saturday at Cobham Oval, Whangarei.
Pakistan Under-19s could score only 188 runs and were all out in 47.4 oversafter winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
Rohail Nazir was the only batsman who registered 81 runs off 105 balls. AliZaryab Asif remained the second highest run-scorer with 30.
Azmatullah Omarzai and Qais Ahmad of Afghanistan picked up three wicketseach.
Afghanistan chased down the total target with five wickets in hand in the48th over.
Darwish Rasooli played a match winning innings of 76 runs and remained notout.
Rasooli was declared Man of the Match for his wonderful batting.
