CM Baluchistan Sana Ullah Zehri resigns

QUETTA – Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri has tendered hisresignation, disclosed one of his former aide on Tuesday.

Sarfraz Bugti, the former home minister of Pakistan’s biggest land-wiseprovince took to the micro-blogging site and expressed gratitude over thedecision.

Let it be known that any official statement in this regard is awaited.

The Balochistan assembly was set to vote over the no-confidence motiontabled against CM Zehri by the lawmakers.

The motion, which was submitted on January 2 by Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjoand Syed Agha Raza, was signed by a total of 14 parliamentarians.

In order to dismiss the motion, the provincial chief executive needs to get33 votes from a house of 65 members.

Earlier, reports emerged that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had askedBalochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri to resign in order to controlthe rising political tension in the province.
