ISLAMABAD – Defense Analysts say the US cannot afford total disengagementwith Pakistan due to its geostrategic location.
Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs program, they saidPakistan’s stance on Donald Trump’s scathing remarks was very clear.
Dr Muhammad Khan said the civilian and military leadership have made itclear that no compromise will be made on sovereignty of the country. Hesaid friendly countries like China are standing by Pakistan.Abdul Wajidsaid the US has a hidden agenda and it wants to establish Indian hegemonyin the region which is not acceptable to Pakistan.
He said the US can not establish peace in Afghanistan without Pakistan.
Retired Brigadier Tipu Sultan said there is realization in the educatedsegment of the US that Donald Trump’s policies are further denting US imageat the international level. He said it is in the interest of the US toengage with Pakistan and remove the mistrust in relations.
