FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Eight police and Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiershave killed in militants’ attacks on security posts in the capital and AnarDara district of western Farah province.
Dadullah Qanay, a provincial council member, told Pajhwok Afghan News thatTaliban stormed a police post in Ganahkan village on the outskirts of Farahcity on Wednesday night.
He said that six policemen were killed and the militants took away theirweapons during the incident.
A resident of the area who wished to go unnamed, said that the bodies ofthe police were laid in their post until 9am today morning. This securitypost is located only five kilometers from Farah police headquarter.
Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman, also said six policemen werekilled in the incident. He said the Taliban also seized weapons and twomotorcycles from the post.
Dadullah Qanay said that two ANA soldiers were killed when Taliban stormedtheir post in the center of Anar Dara district on Wednesday night.
Pajhwok tried to contact with Farah officials for comment about theincidents, but failed.
Militants have recently increased their attacks on security posts in Farahprovince.
