WASHINGTON – US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and CentralAsian Affairs Alice Wells on Thursday said that the US wants mutualrelation with Pakistan against terrorist organizations.
In her interview with an American broadcast organization, she said that theUS wanted to become a partner of Pakistan against terrorist organizations.
Wells said that the US focuses on maintaining trade and communicationrelations with the countries of the region and considers Pakistan animportant country for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central AsianAffairs went on to say that the purpose of Washington’s South Asianstrategy was to work closely with Islamabad, adding that the US was alsokeen to pursue peace talks with the Taliban’s.
