ISLAMABAD- Afghan Ambassador Omar Zakhilwal says President Ashraf Ghani hasgiven a message of closer engagement and cordial relations with Pakistan topromote peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
He was talking to the National Security Adviser Nasser Khan Janjua inIslamabad today.
They exchanged views on bilateral relations and ongoing efforts for peaceand stability in the region.
The Afghan Ambassador briefed the National Security Advisor on today’sinternational peace conference in Kabul.
The National Security Advisor said Pakistan welcomes President Ghani’soffer of seeking peace through dialogue and understanding and would do itsbest to facilitate the realization of this noble initiative.
He hoped that being the closest neighbour of Afghanistan, Pakistan wouldmake its due contribution to the process which would help both countries.
He said peace in Afghanistan is essential for peace in Pakistan. He saidPakistan believes in a vision of common and shared future with the peopleof Afghanistan, that is why it has all along supported efforts forpolitical reconciliation under international and regional peace initiatives.
The two sides agreed to seize this moment collectively and to maintaintheir contacts in pursuit of the common objective.
