KABUL – Afghan security forces captured a French woman allegedly linkedwith Daesh or IS group during a ground and air operation that resulted inthe killing of six fighters in Darzab district of northern Jawzjanprovince, the Ministry of Defense said on Friday.
The MoD tweeted the French woman was detained during the operation againstDaesh in the district. The ministry offered no further details about thedetained woman, Pakhwok has reported.
The ministry said two motorcycles, one computer, three mobile phone setsand some documents were also confiscated by the security forces.
Rumors about the presence of foreign nationals in Daesh ranks particularlyof French citizens in Jawzjan province have been prevalent.
