TOLOnews journalists at the scene say they saw many casualties lying on theground soon after the explosion, which is believed to have been a car bomb.
The incident happened close to the Ali Abad hospital and Kabul Universityat about mid-day on Wednesday.
Security forces have closed off the area, TOLOnews journalist JawidZiaratjaye reports.
