KABUL – In a dangerous rescue mission in southern Afghanistan, PrinceHarry of Britain strafed the Taliban with bullets to help the Americansescape and airlift injured troops to safety.
A media report quoted an Indiana citizen, whose son served in Helmandprovince, as saying the British royal rescued US soldiers who were ambushedin the war zone in 2012
John Zanetis, whose son Christopher Tripp Zanetis was one of the troopsrescued, told The Sunday: “Prince Harry came in with his protectionsquadron and blew the enemy to pieces.”
Tripp, 37, was among seven killed on Thursday when their militaryhelicopter struck a power line and crashed along the Iraqi border withSyria.
Harry, known as Captain Harry Wales in the British Army, served two toursof Afghanistan from 2007 to 2008 and 2012 to 2013.
