KABUL- The Afghan Taliban group in Afghanistan reacted at the reportsregarding the alleged killing of a top Chinese militant leader innortheastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid claims that the reports regarding thekilling of a top Chinese militant leader in Jurm district are baseless ashe called it a ‘propaganda by enemies’,Khaama Press has reported.
Mujahid went on to claim that the Afghan forces conducted an operation inJurm district but the heavy mortar shelling and raid resulted to massivecivilian casualties.
The Taliban spokesman claims that 28 civilians including women and childrenwere killed as he emphasizes that no foreign fighters are based inBadakhshan apart from the Taliban militants.
He also claimed that the there is no foreign insurgent by the name ofMustafa among the ranks of the Taliban in Badakhshan. The 209th ShaheenCorps of the Afghan Military in the North said on Saturday that at leastseven militants including two Chinese nationals were killed during theoperations.
