SRINAGAR- In Washington, the US State Department in its annual Human RightsReport for the year 2017 has said that civilians in Occupied Kashmir werereportedly killed in a staged encounter and later accused of being foreignmilitants.
The report pointed out that police in Jammu and Kashmir allegedly routinelyemployed arbitrary detention and denied detainees’ access to lawyers andmedical attention.
In occupied Kashmir, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed AliGilani, has expressed serious concern over fresh spree of crackdowns andnight raids by Indian troops against innocent Kashmiri youth.
In a statement in Srinagar, he deplored that the troops have unleashed areign of terror against the civilian youth, who are being arrested andsubjected to extreme physical torture.
The APHC chairman reiterated that all such brutal Indian tactics can neverdissuade Kashmiris from pursuing their inalienable right to selfdetermination.
Meanwhile, three people were injured when Indian troops opened fire onprotesters in Kareemabad area of Pulwama district. These people wereprotesting against a cordon and search operation launched by the troops inthe area.
The authorities shifted Dukhtaran-e-Milat Chief Aasiya Andrabi along withfour other party activists to Srinagar central jail on eight days judicialremand. They were arrested during a raid in Anchidoora area of Islamabaddistrict, last night.
