BEIJING: Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan is scheduled for a two-dayofficial visit to Beijing from April 23 to 24 to attend the ShanghaiCooperation Organisation (SCO) defence ministers meeting in Beijing.

Defence ministers of various countries are expected to meet with ChinesePresident Xi Jinping. The group meeting will be held on 23 April.

Dastgir is also expected to have a meeting with Chinese defence ministerWei Fenghe on the sidelines, to discuss bilateral issues and furtherenhance defence collaboration between the two countries. He will also meetministers of other SCO state members, official sources confirmed here.

The defence minister on the second day is scheduled lay floral wreaths atthe Tiananmen Square.

In addition, Dastgir will attend the ‘Peace Horn’ military music festivalat the Great Wall of China, where Pakistan’s tri-forces military band isalso participating along with other SCO member states.
