RAWALPINDI – An Uzbek government delegation met Chief of Army Staff (COAS)General Qamar Javed Bajwa today at the GHQ. Lieutenant General MakhmudovVictor Vladimirovich, secretary security council under the president ofUzbekistan, was heading the delegation.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutualinterest, including security situation in the region were discussed in themeeting.

The visiting delegation acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan Army’ssincere efforts and sacrifices in the war against terrorism and forstability in the region.

The Uzbek side expressed the need for actualising the great potential forcooperation among the two brotherly countries in all fields, includingtrade, connectivity, security and military-to-military cooperation, theISPR added.

The army chief reportedly thanked the delegation for their sentiments andassured full cooperation and support from Pakistan in all initiatives aimedat improving regional cooperation, peace and stability.
