KANDAHAR- The provincial police chief of southern Kandahar province Gen.Abdul Raziq has announced major breakthrough in talks with Afghan Taliban.
He has claimed that sixty top leaders of Taliban’s Quetta Council areprepared to join peace process led by the Afghans, Khaama Press hasreported.
Speaking during a press conference in Kandahar, Gen. Raziq claimed that hehas reached to an agreement regarding the peace process with at least sixtytop leaders of Taliban’s Quetta Council.
Gen. Raziq further added that the Taliban leaders are prepared to joinpeace process and will be resettled in Safe Zones in Kandahar province oncethey join the reconciliation.
He also added that the Taliban leaders who have showed willingness to joinpeace process, are among the top leaders of the group, who have served oractively serving in the senior ranks of the Taliban, ranging fromministerial to brigade levels.
