ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Afghanistan have expressed desire to enhancebilateral trade by overcoming existing challenges.

The understanding was reached at a meeting between Secretary CommerceMuhammad Younus Dagha and Afghan Deputy Minister for Commerce Kamila Sidiqiin Islamabad on Tuesday.

The two sides resolved to make all out efforts to remove impedimentshampering bilateral and transit trade.

They decided to increase interaction at technical and policy levels for theprompt resolution of issue from time to time.

It was also agreed that the institutional mechanism between the twocountries needs to be strengthened and holding of 7th Afghanistan-PakistanTransit Trade Coordination Authority meeting by the Afghan side is the needof the hour.
