Arab states at the United Nations have blocked the Israeli bid for Security Council seat compelling it to drop out of the race.
It was Israel’s first attempt to win a seat at the 15-member council.
Palestinian foreign minister Riyad al-Maliki said earlier that Arab countries would do everything possible to block Israel’s attempt for a seat at the Security Council.
