US administration puts off decision on tariffs for EU, others

WASHINGTON: In the United States the Trump administration has decided to put off imposing tariffs on imports of steel and aluminium from Europe for one month to avoid probable trade war with European countries.

The White House has announced the delay for the European Union as well as for its trading partners Canada and Mexico.

The US administration says it has reached an agreement with South Korea on steel imports following discussions on a revised trade agreement. It has also reached agreements in principle with Argentina, Australia and Brazil on steel and aluminium that will be finalized shortly. APP/AFP
