ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said that PakistanArmy has done it’s job in the Tribal areas and now civil administrationshould do his job.
He termed rehabilitation of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) andeconomic uplift of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) priorityof the government.
He was addressing the representatives of people and notables of Fata inMiranshah after inaugurating the newly-constructed Miranshah Market Complexby the Pakistan Army Engineers. Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi and Chief ofthe Amy Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Miranshah and Ghulam Khanareas of North Waziristan Agency.
On arrival at Miranshah, the prime minister laid a floral wreath at theShuhada Monument and offered Fateha for the Shuhada of Pakistan whorendered supreme sacrifices for restoration of peace and stability. TheMarket Complex includes 1,344 shops, parks, car parking, solar lights,driveways and water supply network.
He also inaugurated the Ghulam Khan Trade Terminal, North WaziristanAgency, as part of Central Trade Corridor. He said the Pakistan Army’sservices and sacrifices were unparalleled and the whole world hadacknowledged them.
He said the Pakistan Army had done its job and now it was the areaadministration and political agents’ responsibility to maintain discipline,peace and harmony in the area. Abbasi lauded the brave tribesmen for theirunwavering support in the fight against terrorism and clearing these areasof terrorists. He reminded that peace in tribal areas was pre-requisite forpeace in Pakistan. “These socio-economic projects are just the beginningand many more such projects are in the pipeline for Fata in addition to theones which have been completed or are in progress across Fata.Rehabilitation of TDPs and economic uplift of Fata is a priority objectiveof the government,” he added.
