LAHORE – Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched the MobileDevices Identification, Registration and Blocking Regulation System (DIRBS)to block stolen, smuggled and duplicate identifiers phones in Pakistan.
DIRBS allows users to verify IMEI number of the mobile device(s) to ensurethat device(s) is Genuine, Legal Import with all applicable duties andtaxes paid and compliant to DIRBS regulations and SOP.

Users can verify their device by sending an SMS containing IMEI number(Find out IMEI by dialling *#06#) to 8484 and the reply message willprovide the status of the device.Users can check through DIRBS applicationwhich is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
If users’ mobile device is verified, they will get an SMS “IMEI iscompliant.”
