Pakistan hits back hard at Indian response over Gilgit-Baltistan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan rejects India’s protest against the Gilgit-BaltistanOrder 2018 and its claim over the Indian occupied State of Jammu andKashmir as an ‘integral part’ of India.

In a statement on Sunday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisalsaid the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is a “disputed” territory andfinal status of Jammu and Kashmir will be determined through the democraticmethod of a free and impartial plebiscite administered by the UnitedNations.

He said, instead of making frivolous protests and issuing legally untenableand uncalled for statements, India should take steps to vacate its illegaloccupation and create the conditions for faithful implementation of the UNSecurity Council resolutions.

The Spokesperson said that the baseless Indian propaganda aboutGilgit-Baltistan can neither cover up the atrocities being perpetrated bythe Indian security forces against the innocent, unarmed Kashmiris inIndian Occupied Kashmir nor it can succeed in diverting the attention ofthe international community from the deplorable situation in Indianoccupied Kashmir.
