ISLAMABAD: Disgruntled PML-N leaders Chaudhry Nisar and Zaeem Qadri have been allotted the jeep as their electoral symbol.
Nisar is contesting the elections from NA-59 and NA-63 as an independent candidate after the PML-N refused to issue him tickets.
The PML-N had told Nisar to formally apply for election tickets and to appear before party’s parliamentary board but he refused to do so.
Qadri, another party leader, had parted ways with the PML-N a few days ago after developing differences with Hamza Shahbaz over distribution of party tickets.
Zaeem Qadri is contesting election as an independent candidate from NA-133.
Sources said Qadri had contacted Nisar through a friend and requested him to launch an independent group to confront the Sharif-led party in the July 25 elections.
However, Nisar did not respond to Qadri’s request. APP/AFP
