Shahbaz Sharif admits parting ways with Chaudhry Nisar

LAHORE – The former Chief Minister of Punjab and president of PakistanMuslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Shehbaz Sharif expressed that the party hadparted ways with former interior minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan.

Talking to Saleem Safi on Geo News’ show ‘Jirga’, the PML-N head said hehad a friendly relation with Chaudhry Nisar, however, regretted that thetwo of them have dissociated with each other.

The younger Sharif said he had convinced Nawaz Sharif for awarding ticketto Nisar, but it could not happen because of issuance of statements fromboth sides.

“I have had an affiliation with Chaudhry Nisar and I won’t issue statementson that throughout my life,” he said.

Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz had nominated candidates against disgruntledChaudry Nisar Ali Khan for the constituencies, NA-59, NA-63, PP-10 andPP-12.

Raja Qamarul Islam will be PML-N’s candidate for NA-59 and PP-10, whileMumtaz Khan has been fielded in NA-63.

Ch Nisar will face Faisal Qayyum Malik of PML-N at the PP-12 constituency.

Meanwhile, Chaudhry Sarfaraz Afzal, Raja Sarfraz Asghar and Zeeshan SiddiqButt will contest on PML-N ticket in PP-13, PP-20 and PP-19, respectively.

Shehbaz also asserted that the party had chosen him (Shehbaz) for the postof prime minister if they won the polls, adding that the allegations ofopposition to support Reham Khan were baseless.

“I am neither behind Reham’s book nor gave her a single penny for itdirectly or indirectly,” Shehbaz said.

The PML-N head is facing corruption charges these days along with runningan electoral campaign for the general elections 2018 scheduled to be heldon July 25.
