LONDON: On Sunday, a group reportedly belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI), protested outside the Avenfield apartments in UK and tried to breakinto the house of Hussain Nawaz.
As Pakistan’s former prime minister Nawaz Sharif entered the house,protesting members of PTI, who were driven with fury and rage, tried tobreak into the flats: kicking at doors and throwing things around. Ashopping cart was thrown at Ejaz Gull, a local leader belonging to PakistanMuslim League Nawaz (PML-N) by a furious protestor.
As the protest turned violent, security officials rushed to Avenfield tonormalize the situation. The officials also searched the cars of prominentprotestors to identify the group they belong to. Metropolitan authoritiesalso stated that they have got the footage of the incident and will takeaction with regards to damage to property and assault.
The Accountability Court sentenced 11-year rigorous imprisonment to Nawaz,while his daughter Maryam Nawaz was awarded eight-year imprisonment with £8million and £2 million fine, respectively.
