LAHORE – The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leaderships planned tohistoric welcome of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughterMaryam Nawaz at Lahore.

This was decided in a high-level PML-N meeting headed by party’s presidentShehbaz Sharif on Sunday. The meeting concluded that Nawaz Sharif andMaryam Nawaz should land in Lahore instead of Islamabad.

According to the sources, the meeting was held at Model Town where tofinalise a future course of action in light of the party quid’s return toPakistan. In the meeting, the PML-N president assigned duties the party’sticket holders to lead groups of supporters to grand or historic welcomethe party quid when he returns to the country.

Following the high-level party meeting, Maryam assured that she and Nawazwill arrive in Lahore upon return to Pakistan.

“We will land in Lahore in a few days,” Maryam said while speaking to thejournalist in London. “We will lead the struggle for democracy inPakistan,” he also said.

“No matter what they do, voters cannot be stopped,” she asserted. The PML-Nleader further said that the movement to ‘respect the vote’ has reached adecisive phase.”

On Friday, Nawaz and daughter Maryam were sentenced to 11 and eight yearsin prison and slapped £8-million and £2-million fines, respectively, inrelation to the Avenfield properties reference filed by the NationalAccountability Bureau (NAB) last year.
