SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership hasexpressed serious concern over the use of aggressive and repressivemeasures by the Indian authorities against peaceful and unarmed civiliansand pro-freedom leadership in the territory.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and MuhammadYasin Malik in a statement in Srinagar has condemned the nocturnal raids,ransacking of properties by the Indian troops and said that the pursuingthe struggle for right to self-determination is Kashmiris birth right. Theleadership said that youth are being killed during custody.

The Joint Resistance Leadership also appealed to the UN to impress uponIndia to stop brutalities and demanded unbiased intervention to resolve thelingering Kashmir dispute in the larger interest of peaceful an dprosperous South Asia.
