*ISLAMABAD: Airbus A380, the biggest passenger airplane of the world, isanticipated to land on the new Islamabad International Airport on July 8which is to marked for the first time in the history of Pakistan.*
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) gave permission to a Middle Easternairline, Emirates to bring the airplane to Pakistan.
According to CAA authorities, The new Islamabad airport is very wellconstructed, with an idea of such innovations. The airport can easilyaccommodate these aircrafts and the departments can handle the work relatedto it at efficient level.
The new airport has capacity to hold various aircrafts including Boeing777, Airbus A350 & Jumbo Jets as the operating runways are two. However,the Benazir Bhutto International Airport cannot cater a double-deckedjetliner A380 due to its short runway and low weight bearing capability.
A380 first flight will arrive with 650 passengers on board from Dubai. Itis expected to land in Islamabad at 12:30 am.
It is a double decker aircraft, that stands 80-foot high from the groundwith a competitive speed of 945 kilometres per hour due to its four turboengines.
The aircraft weighs 577 tons, its length is 240 feet and the wingspan is260 feet.
The first plane was used in 2005 as test flight and commercial flightsbegan in 2007 by Singapore Airlines. Now almost all well-known airlineshave this aircraft in their fleet. These include Emirates, Qantas,Lufthansa, Korea Air, Malaysia Airlines, British Airways, Asiana Airlines,Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways.
A380 can accommodate 868 passengers. It has the capacity to carry 323,545litres of fuel, which is equal to 85,471 gallons.
