LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif isall set to chair a consultative meeting of his party today (Sunday) inLahore to discuss formation of government in Punjab and political scenarioin the country.

According to reports, Shehbaz met with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaderMakhdoom Ahmed Mehmood and discussed a coalition government in theprovince. He also vowed to meet PPP leadership with both sides agreeing towork together for democracy in the future.

Meanwhile, PML-N President and PPP leader Khursheed Shah will meet inIslamabad today to discuss the prospects of forming a joint opposition inthe National Assembly.

The two main opposition parties decided to form a committee with PML-Nrepresenting by Ayaz Sadiq, Mushahid Hussain Syed and Khawaja Saad Rafiquewhile the PPP has fielded Khurshid Shah, Sherry Rehman and Naveed Qamar toengage with political parties in the wake of General Elections-2018 todiscuss the way forward.

The top brass termed the suggestion of not taking oath as harmful to thedemocratic process and suggested that the party should instead registerprotest against “rigging” in the polls.
