Punjab interim cabinet decides to close inactive government run companies

ISLAMABAD – A meeting of interim cabinet of Punjab, chaired by its ChiefMinister, Dr Hassan Askari in Lahore on Monday has decided to wind up thenon-functional and inactive government-run companies as per the rules andregulations.

The cabinet also decided to obtain the final opinion of law and financedepartments to ascertain the future of the government-funded companies.

Approval was given by the cabinet to amend the first schedule of Code ofCivil Procedure, 1908.

The cabinet also approved the formation of boards of management of theSheikh Zayad Medical College & Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan and ChildrenHospital & Institute of Child Health, Lahore.

Likewise, the formation of the administrative committee for the PunjabInstitute of Cardiology, Lahore was also approved.

It was decided in the meeting to give the facility of additional workingcapital of three point one seven billion rupees to the Quaid-e-Azam ThermalPower limited.

Moreover, the approval of the establishment of the Punjab TianjinUniversity of Technology at Township, Lahore was also endorsed by themembers of the interim cabinet.

The meeting decided that the government employees from grade-1 to grade-16will donate their one-day salary to the Diamir-Basha and Mohmand Dams Fund,whereas, the employees from Grade-17-to 22 will give their two-day pay tothese funds voluntarily.
