SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, massive protests erupted today, afterIndian troops launched cordon and search operations in Sopore, Kulgam andPulwama areas.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police and troops used bruteforce and fired teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggeringclashes between the demonstrators and the forces.

The troops also launched a siege and search operation in Jhanger area ofRajouri district.

On the other hand, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, SyedAli Gilani, in a statement said that Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’sKashmir remarks in his Independence Day speech were nothing but awell-scripted and stage-managed drama.
