ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik has created history In the T20 cricketinternational.
He has achieved another feat as he reached 8,000 runs in T20 format onSunday.
Malik, who made his international debut in 1999, scored his 8,000th runwith a four to Ashley Nurse playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors againstBarbados Tridents in a game of Caribbean Premier League.
West Indies’ giant opener, Chris Gayle, New Zealand’s former skipperBrendon McCullum and the aggressive Caribbean all-rounder Kieron Pollardare the other three batsmen to reach the landmark before Malik.
Shoaib Malik is also the highest scorer for Pakistan in T20 internationalswith 2,109 runs and the third highest scorer in the world just behind NewZealand’s duo of Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum who have scored 2,271and 2,140 respectively.
Chris Gayle, with 21 centuries to his name, has scored 11,575 runs in the20-over format. Whereas, Brendon McCullum and Kieron Pollard have scored9,188 and 8,225 runs respectively.
