HAMBURG – Pakistan Navy is on a mission to enhance its strategic outreachto the European Countries and it’s warships have started to dock at theRussian and European ports.
In a latest such move Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT “Aslat” (F-22P) has arrivedat Hamburg port Germany.
The move is a part of an overseas deployment to Mediterranean and Europeancountries. This is the first-ever visit by a Pakistan Navy Ship to Germany.
PNS “ASLAT’ frigate was commissioned in early 2013, it was previously builtat the Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai. PN Ship ispart of a series of four identical units. PN ASLAT main task is air defenceand maritime surveillance at Sea. Furthermore, PNS “Aslat” was deployed in’Operation “Enduring Freedom’.
On Saturday morning arrival at Hamburg Port, PN Ship was received by theGerman Navy Hamburg Command and Naval Attache’ Embassy of Pakistan, Berlin.
Moreover, 123 meters long frigate ASLAT is harboured in Hamburg near theÜberseebrücke.
As per the statements of Pakistan Navy, “it is for the first time that aPakistan Navy Missile ship enters into the Baltic waters and it will stayin Germany as a Goodwill visit.”
Hamburg Hafen ‘HamburgPort’ is Germany’s largest port and considered to bethe ‘Gateway to the world’. Hafen City (Port City) is an attractivedestination for naval ships and tourists, therefore sideline program isplanned for the crew and visitors. PNS ASLAT will be opened for the generalpublic for two days Saturday and Monday between 1500h to 1800h local time.Local German and Pakistani guests and tourists can be onboard and have alifetime experience at PNS ASLAT.
