*RAWALPINDI: A Planning Conference organized by Inter-Services PublicRelations (ISPR) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday chalked out a comprehensiveprogramme to observe the forthcoming Defence and Martyrs Day in a befittingmanner.*

Director-General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor briefed participantsincluding representatives of Ministry of Information, armed forces, mediaand civil society about the plan.

He said the Ministry and ISPR would have a joint coordinating role forobservance of the day this year in a unique manner. The InformationMinistry and ISPR would serve as focal points for the country-wideawareness campaign.

The Planning Conference was informed that the main ceremony of the daywould be held at General Headquarters and it would be broadcast live.

Representatives of the people would visit home of every martyr and thanktheir heirs on behalf of the nation.
