QUETTA – Authorities have recovered smuggled goods from the buses ofpilgrims returning from Iran via Taftan.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta on Monday, Custom Collector QuettaAshraf Ali said that on a tip off, a team raided a bus of pilgrim returningfrom Iran via Taftan.
Subsequently, large number of smuggled goods including tyres, carpetscrockery cumin (zeera), garments, PP bags, cooking oil and other edibleitems were recovered from the buses.
The market value of the smuggled goods is more than Rs20 million and valueof seized buses is around Rs2.35. million.
A case has been lodged against the accused under Customs Act, while aninvestigation is underway.
