KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Najam Sethi has reportedlystarted lobbying for keeping the slot of Chairman as Imran Khan was electedas the Prime Minister.
Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have shown all out support to MrNajam Sethi to remain the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
After Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emerged as singlelargest party in the elections, the reports about Sethi’s removal as PCBchairman are roaming all around.
According to the Daily Express, the PSL franchises owners’ are on one pageto support Mr Chairman and want him to continue as the head of the PCB.
According to the sources, one franchise owner have asked Sethi to not worryas he has some good links within the ruling party so he will advise them tonot disturb the current setup of the PCB as it is working smoothly havingsome great achievements to their name.
The sources also confirmed that the one PSL official who was reported to beinterested for the PCB’s Chairmanship has assured Mr Sethi that he was notinterested for this position and will support him throughout.
The sources further stated that Najam Sethi wants the PSL franchises tosupport him publically to make his position strong but it seems like thefranchises are reluctant to make any quick statement in this regard as theyare worried that if Sethi gets removed from his role then the nextgoverning body will consider them as the supporters of Najam Sethi.
