ISLAMABAD – China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project achieves yetanother milestone today.

The 1320 MW coal-fired power plant of the China Power Hub GenerationCompany (Pvt) Ltd (CPHGC), being constructed in Hub has achieved a majormilestone.

It has been interconnected with Pakistan’s National Grid.

It achieved back energization of its 500KV GIS from Jamshoro side of thetransmission lines.

With this achievement, CPHGC has officially entered into hot commissioningphase of the complex that would lead to synchronization of its 1st Unitwith the National Grid in December 2018.

The process of power back-feeding was completed after a series of key stepssuch as line connection, site acceptance tests, high pressure test of GIS,injection test and inter tripping test all witnessed by relevant regulatoryauthorities. The whole operation was completed safely and all theparameters of the relevant grid equipment were found within normal limits.

After energizing the 500KV system, CPHGC has achieved energization ofstart-up transformer and 10 kV auxiliary power system, and preparing forthe system commissioning of Unit 1.

The milestone was achieved in collaboration with the production andtechnology departments of CPHGC and National Transmission & DispatchCompany (NTDC).
