ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday called President-elect ofMaldives Ibrahim Mohammed Solih to felicitate him on his victory in therecent presidential elections.
Underscoring that Maldives was entering a new era, he hoped that under theleadership of President-elect Ibrahim Mohammad Solih, the country and itspeople would achieve great success and prosperity, PM office media wing ina press release said.
Both leaders reiterated their resolve to further strengthen the bilateralrelations, which were characterized by cordiality, religious affinity andclose cooperation.
They also expressed desire to work closely on the issues of mutual interestand for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.The Maldivian president-elect thanked the Imran Khan for the telephone calland also congratulated him on assumption of the office of Prime Minister ofPakistan.
He also invited the prime minister to visit Maldives at a mutuallyconvenient date.
