*KARACHI – Police chief of Karachi Dr. Amir Shaikh has taken vital stepsfor revamping the Karachi Police.*

*Police Chief has ordered Patrolling Police officials to change theirautomatic weapons.*

This order has been issued after multiple incidents of accidental shootingswere reported.

The notice further ordered the officials to avoid unnecessary exhibition ofthe automatic weapons in front of civilians as it causes a sense of uneaseand fear.

The notice instructs that all automatic weapons presently carried for squadduty, patrolling and at police posts are to be exchanged at local policestations.

Rescue 15 and designated Police Motorcycle patrol officials are alsoordered to exchange their weapons at local police stations.

Further 300 motorcycles have been ordered by the Police Chief for enhancingpatrolling in Karachi.
