JAKARTA – Pakistan and Indonesia have decided to enhance the bilateraltrade and economic ties.
Few ratifications are also likely to be made in coming days.
Finance Ministe Asad Umar Wednesday met his Indonesian counterpart SriMulyani Indrawati on the sidelines of the World Bank/IMF Group annualmeetings in Bali.
Both the sides discussed matters pertaining to expansion of bilateralcooperation between the two countries, the Press Information Department(PID) said in a statement.
The finance minister urged the Indonesian side to expedite the process ofratification of the additional tariff lines granted to Pakistan aftercomprehensive review of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) in 2017.
Congratulating Asad Umar on assuming the office after recent elections inPakistan, Sri Mulyani Indrawati reaffirmed Indonesia’s desire to expandbilateral relations and assured her support to address the points raised bythe Pakistan side.
Finance Minister Asad Umar later had a meeting with World Bank President DrJim Yong Kim and reviewed the current level of Pakistan-World Bankcooperation.
