Pakistan sets condition for playing mediatory role in Yemen peace talks

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has set condition for playing mediatory role in theYemen conflict.

Ambassador of Yemen Mohammed Mohatar Alashabi called on Prime MinisterImran Khan in Islamabad on Wednesday.

According to sources, the Yemeni ambassador and PM Imran discussedrelations between Pakistan and Yemen along with the peace process in theMiddle-East.

During the meeting, PM Imran said Pakistan wants a peaceful and anacceptable solution to the war, sources said.

According to the sources, the prime minister told the ambassador that ifall stakeholders are in agreement then Pakistan can play the role of amediator in the Yemen peace process.

In his address to the nation on October 24, PM Imran had said Pakistanwould act as a mediator in the war between the Houthi rebels and Saudi-ledalliance in Yemen.
