ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and China have agreed to boost cooperation betweentheir railways and have deputed technical teams to work out the details inthis connection.
Consensus to this effect was reached between two sides at a meeting inIslamabad today (Monday). The Chinese delegation of NRA was headed by AnLusheng while the Pakistani side by its Minister for Railways Sheikh RashidAhmed in the talks.
Both sides agreed that the government knows the importance of ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor and Pakistan Railways is the backbone of CPEC.
Speaking on the occassion, Minister for Railways said no modification willbe made in Framework Agreement between National Railway Administration ofChina and Pakistan Railways.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Minister said up gradation of ML-1 should be completedswiftly as the present government is interested in up-gradation of ML-1 and2.
He said ML-2 and 3 are also important for CPEC and China should giveimportance to these projects.
